This 1700s German window came to me in complete disrepair. It had hundred of years of dust, dirt, and damage built up. I was tasked with replacing the broken glass, repairing the damaged lead, glazing the window, and cleaning it up. It took about 3 weeks for the entire process.

During the repair process, I removed any loose or broken pieces of glass and had shorten the window due to the amount of damage. I used the excess glass from shortening the window to replace any broken glass. For century-old windows like this, it is important to use only the glass from the window to preserve the integrity and history of the piece. The left image above shows the window before any cleaning or repair was done, and the right image shows the window after being shortened and in the process of repair.

These windows are around 100 years old and came in bits and pieces. I found replacement glass to fill the missing pieces, repaired cracks and damage to the glass and lead, and soldered and lead lined each piece back in shape.

For these two windows, there were a lot of missing pieces of glass, so I had to color match using glass from our shop, keeping the premium "glowy" quality of the original glass in mind. The right window was especially damaged, which became quite the challenge for repairing the original design. I also had to reconstruct the entire border,  using fresh lead and solder to attach everything together. Finally, they were framed with a zinc border

This lamp was made from a clients hand carved wooden frame, and I was tasked with turning it into a lamp using glass and metal leaf overlay. I began with a sketch, and used copper sheets and solder to construct the leaves, blackening them with patina.

These windows are modeled after a historic door, certain panels of the door were so damaged they had to be fully reconstructed. These windows were made using lead came, which is a lead channeling that comes in a U or H shape, fitting the glass inside the channeling and then soldering each joint together.

This 100+ year old sconce needed repair on damaged panels. I used antique glass and made sure to preserve the natural green patina on the metal.

Stained Glass in Oil and Acrylic

Dragonfly Lamp
Oil on canvas, 16" x 20", 2025

I immediately fell in love when I saw this lamp at an antique store in my hometown, it has traveled to every place I've lived, providing comfort and atmosphere. For this painting, I wanted to portray the glowing orange and yellow hues, contrasted with the dark and cool blues and purples.

Floral Lamp
Oil on canvas, 18" x 24", 2025

This lamp was passed down from my grandparents, my father, and then to me. It lives on the kitchen table of my college apartment and has provided friends and I with light during late night talks, card games, and meals. The goal of this painting was depicting the cozy atmosphere indoors, compared to the silhouetted rooftops and chimneys outside during a storm.

I did a series of floral windows, attempting to create the illusion of stained glass on top of canvas. For paintings #1 and #2, I used embroidery floss coated in gesso to create a 3D surface to replicate the black soldering between the pieces of glass. Painting #3, I focused less on 3D surface details in favor of more accurately depicting the appearance of glass and how the light shines through.

Dragonfly Lamp #1
Acrylic on cardboard, 9" x 11", 2024

This was my first study of stained glass, specifically lamps. I wanted to depict the texture and saturation of the glass, focusing on vibrant spots of light.
